FlexGE (Continuing Education) PRE
Program Purpose
The FlexGE program seeks to enlarge the influence of a BYU education by providing access to instruction, services, and extracurricular experiences, to students not officially admitted to BYU. FlexGE meets the Aims of a BYU education by developing non-matriculated students of faith, intellect, and character who have the skills and the desire to continue learning and to serve others throughout their lives.
FlexGE students "seek learning, even by study and also by faith" (D&C 88:118) by taking courses primarily from the University Core. These courses provide the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to integrate faith and reason in the pursuit of truth through a broad-based study of the arts and sciences illuminated by the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
Participation in a broad selection of extracurricular experiences also contribute to the balanced development of FlexGE students. The FlexGE program encourages students to seek out opportunities that help them grow in the 4 areas of the Aims of a BYU Education. FlexGE students live in student housing and are encouraged to participate fully in their assigned YSA ward.
