Illustration BFA
Program Purpose
The objective of the Illustration BFA program is to prepare students to succeed in the competitive world of professional illustration as effective communicators and visual problem solvers. Emphasis in the Illustration program is placed on learning the skills necessary to compete in the changing illustration markets and contribute to a variety of mass media forms. Competency is required in the areas of creativity, design, drawing, painting, media skills, and illustration history, as well as understanding and rendering the human form and landscape. Classroom projects vary from simple skill-oriented problems to complex market-focused illustrations that simulate actual assignments. Additionally, students interested in concept design learn basic 2D programs and processes and high-end 3D animation programs.
