Business Management BS
Program Purpose
The Business Management major at BYU Marriott prepares students to lead with faith, intellect, and character in a wide variety of professional and personal settings. Rooted in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and guided by principles of Christlike leadership, the program offers a flexible and integrative curriculum that equips students with foundational business knowledge across key disciplines. Whether pursuing professional school, working in a family enterprise, launching a career in general management, or seeking broad preparation for life and service, students develop practical business acumen, spiritual maturity, ethical judgment, and a lifelong commitment to learning and contribution.
Learning Outcomes
Demonstrate Foundational Knowledge Across Business Disciplines
Graduates will demonstrate a broad and integrated understanding of core business functions (accounting, finance, marketing, operations, human resources, strategic management, etc.) and how these areas contribute to christlike leadership and organizational effectiveness.
Graduates will lead with integrity, empathy, and moral courage. They will collaborate effectively in diverse teams, demonstrating respect, humility, faith, and a commitment to uplifting others--consistent with gospel-centered leadership principles.
Graduates will approach complex business challenges with disciplined inquiry, creativity, and strategic insight. They will use evidence-based frameworks to solve problems in ways that reflect both analytical excellence and moral discernment.
Graduates will integrate spiritual values with analytical tools and technologies to make responsible, ethical decisions. They will demonstrate accountability, transparency, and respect for others as stewards in their organizations and communities.
