Learning Outcomes
Museum Ethics and Practices
Students will be able to critically assess and propose appropriate courses of action for a variety of museum scenarios. Successful implementation of these actions is dependent on students' commitment to ethical standards; knowledge of state, national, and international laws; and Christ-like engagement with and concern for involved communities.
Students will be able to plan and execute museum projects (such as exhibitions, educational programs, and collection projects) that positively impact communities as a result of in-depth research, effective writing, understanding and connection with communities, appropriate care for objects utilized, and inspiring leadership.
Students will be able to productively communicate through museum genres (exhibitions, catalogs, reports, presentations, proposals, evaluations, etc.) with a variety of audiences and stakeholders.
Students will be able to articulate their personal understanding of the role of museums in society., These include museums' sacred stewardship over their collections, their relationships with communities, nurturing connections within families, and valuing each person as a child of God.
